Long before horoscopes lived in magazines, they lived in marble, myth, and minted gold. Each sign of the zodiac was once a hero, or a creature the Roman Empire looked to the stars and claimed as its own. As Rome built its empire, it also inherited legends of Greece, renaming them as its own — Zeus became Jupiter, Aphrodite became Venus. The myths behind each sign in this collection are the stories Rome told on its own.
